Ian joined Syncromatics as CEO in 2012, before the GMV acquisition. He had previously founded the early stage advisory and investment firm Hangar202 and sits on the board of many investments today. He has over a decade in C-level roles and nearly 20 years in Logistics and Operations with The United States Marine Corp, DHL Express, and University of Southern California.

As a native Southern Californian, Ian hopes to help solve the mobility problem by making transit easier to use, more reliable, and a pleasant experience for the riding public. He received his undergraduate degree in business and marketing from California Lutheran University and his MBA from the University of Southern California. In his off time, Ian advises and invests in startups.

 

Josh Bigelow
Founder / Chief Strategy Officer

After previously working as a programmer in the USC Transportation department, Josh founded what we now know as GMV Intelligent Transportation Systems North America in 2006 and formed key relationships with early customers like UCSD, the City of Key West, and LADOT. Josh went on to help win the 2007 California Clean Tech Open’s Lexus Transportation Prize for the success of the initial deployment at UCSD.

Josh has served the company in a wide array of positions including executive management, sales, product management and engineering. In his spare time, Josh is an active participant in the clean technology community and reads daily.

Alex developed his passion for technology, infrastructure, and local government early in his career as a policy advisor to the Mayor of Los Angeles. Now his curiosity and problem solving skills help GMV’s clients create transportation solutions across the United States.

Hailing from a small town himself, Alex is proud to help communities of all sizes use technology to enhance mobility and quality of life.

 

Steve White
Chief Product Officer

Steve leads the product, design, and development efforts at GMV Intelligent Transportation Systems North America, charting a course for the company’s integrated software and hardware products.

With a background in live event production, Steve learned the art of “user experience” design in the physical world. This real-world design experience and his love of cities led to a deep interest in urban planning and transportation. Combining that passion for transportation and design, Steve leads the product and engineering department from a user-centric point of view, guiding the development of pioneering solutions.

Peli’s professional trajectory has always been related to high-tech and complex projects in sectors like Defense, Security, and Mobility & Public Transportation. In his career, he has evolved from a just-graduated Electrical Engineer specializing in software to an Operations Manager with wide experience on projects of over 800 buses.

Peli is fully focused on GMV’s customers, and he always provides his knowledge, experience, and guidance to assure the successful deployment and operation of GMV’s ITS systems. His goal is shared with our customers: to provide the best service and experience to the people riding public transportation.

 

Tim Newsom
Chief Technology Officer

Tim is a growth-oriented leader who brings more than 26 years of experience in all aspects of system design, architecture, and quality engineering practices. Tim is responsible for the technical quality of our hardware and software products. He is driven by his passion for building world class engineering teams and providing the tools to help them deliver products that improve the lives of our customers and clients.

In his spare time, he is either spending time with his family or reading about up-and-coming technologies.
