GMV Syncromatics is a leading provider of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) serving transit agencies, universities and private operators across the country. We collect GPS and other sensor data from buses, shuttles, trolleys and other moving vehicles and then transport it via cellular networks to our back-end systems for real-time aggregation, analytics, alerting, and reporting. All of this information is used by dispatchers, transit planners and the riding public to make transit systems more accessible to riders and run more efficiently for operators.
GMV Syncromatics is headquartered downtown in sunny Los Angeles, California. We’re in the PacMutual building, located adjacent to Pershing Square and easily accessible via the 7th St/Metro Center and Pershing Square Metro stations. Many of our employees take advantage of public transportation (we pay for it!). The Pershing Square/Bunker Hill area is a thriving, revitalized area of Los Angeles with limitless restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, shopping and other amenities.
We’re looking for a System Integration and Test Manager who is eager to work with us on building the most reliable integrated systems in our industry. Our in-vehicle technologies include infrared based passenger counters, driver data terminals, automatic voice and visual announcements systems, infotainment, vehicle computer integration and a slew of other transit specific integrations.
Build, Maintain and Manage a System Integration Lab Environment
Lead the Hardware Component of Product Development
Research and Develop Integrated Solutions for System Improvements and New Features
Ensure Quality in the Product and Documentation That Is Delivered to the Operations Department for Deployment
Working with and developing complex integrated electronics systems.
Developing and integrating 3rd party COTS components with custom software and cabling.
Working with electronics in an industrial or other harsh environment.
Familiarity with distributed or remote systems.
Working with 2D and 3D CAD tools (such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Altium) for circuit and system schematics.
B.S/M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is strongly preferred.
Designing analog and mixed signal circuit design, including PCB layout.
Working with electronic systems installed on industrial vehicles (transit vehicles, commercial trucks, trains, etc.) or in other rugged environments.
Familiarity with CAN, J1708 and/or OBDII is a plus.
Designing cable harnesses.
Working with internet of things (IOT) devices for distributed sensing applications.
Interfacing with 3rd party installers or technicians.
